Ethics
This is not an overview of ethical systems but a description of what I believe to the best ethical system.
If you desire to learn about ethical systems academically, watch the crash course philosophy youtube playlist below, episodes 32, 35, 36, 37, and 38.

Imagining life from the viewpoint of others is the foundation of being a good person and building a good and just society. As the golden rule says, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". Unfortunately this doesn't work if you're a freak, which is why you need empathy.
I was taught that "sympathy" meant to relate to another's emotions because you experienced it yourself, while "empathy" was relating to their experience despite it never occurring to oneself. The latter is far more important because humans, do to inherent limits in experiences, and more importantly, biology. Biology means we inherently think different and process/feel emotion differently.
